Large Boulder Opal complemented with Peridot, Topaz, Apatite and Tanzanite

This large Boulder opal measures 2 x 3/4", the piece measures 2 3/4 x 1 1/2" and hangs on a 24" sterling silver chain. All set in sterling silver. This is a beautiful piece and will not last long!

Boulder Opal is a unique opal found in Australia. It is a mixture of ironstone and opal either in matrix or layered. Every stone is unique. Since it is mixed with ironstone it is very strong and resistant to breaking. Some boulder opals show crack lines, most of these were caused during formation from the shifting and movement of the earth.

This piece was photographed with natural light. Sometimes not all of the colors come through depending on the lighting. Different computer screens can show different hues of colors. Please consider this when viewing the piece. I have tried to show the best color and shape of the piece. The best light to view a stone is sunlight.
